The West Virginia Collegiate Recovery Network (WVCRN), Marshall University, and the West Virginia Drug Intervention Institute (WV DII) have launched a new overdose prevention initiative on West Virginia’s college and university campuses entitled, “Be The One.” The initiative is the first of its kind and will focus on opioid overdose prevention from a bystander’s perspective, encouraging students, staff, and faculty to Be The One to save a life.
Scholarship Application
One of the goals of the WVCRN is to support students in recovery in attaining their educational aspirations. Through fundraising & donations, the WVCRN is able to offer awards which are paid directly to the student to help with school related expenses. A selection committee comprised of the WVCRN Advisory Committee Members will review and select the awardee(s). Preference is given to WV residents. The amount of the award(s) is dependent upon available funds. Applications are accepted at any time. The committee will make awards prior to the fall and spring semesters as funds are available.
